Sleepwalking, I heed some unconscious call
Lost in my own bedroom, I feel along the wall.
I dove into the sea of air to become falling fire
A flash, then I was gone, fulfilling my dark desire.
I mind my own business: My mind
It needs to leave old business behind.
I rode a shooting star down to Earth
9 months before my birth.
The sightseers are ahead of you & me
They’re out of sight, as you can see.
When I was conceived I did not even know
All I knew to do was grow.
I’d like to journey to the center of the Sun
And burn in there till I was well-done.
Dawn is breaking as I write
My-pen-my-sword slew the night.
I love Truth & Beauty
Living is a duty
Blue son of Kentucky you’ll shine again
You’re neither a never-was nor a has-been.
Tom Wilson is the youngest of a big family. His dad built the old brick house that they lived in. They were located 6 miles from town and 2 miles on that side of the Mississippi River, one mile as the crow flies. He graduated from high school in 1978 and from good ol’ Murray State in 1981. Then various and sundry things went down and up, and he finds himself here and now.
